Prepared for Healing Hands Wellness & Chiropractic Center

What we found on your website

We looked at your site the way one of your patients would: on a phone, in pain, having just found you.

Three things stood out. Everything we measured is below, and you can check any of it yourself in about a minute.

Part one

What is wrong, and what it costs you

01

Your phone number is not tappable, anywhere on your site

  • 46 pages checked
  • 0 tappable phone links
  • 1 mention, about 16 screens down
What it is

Your number, (847) 673-6600, is written as plain text. On a phone, tapping it does nothing. We checked every one of the 46 pages on your site and there is not a single tappable phone link on any of them.

Why that costs you

Somebody with back pain who wants to talk to a person now has to scroll, read the number, memorise it, leave your website, open their phone app, and type ten digits. Every one of those steps is a place they stop. We cannot tell you how many people that is, and we would not guess. What we can tell you is that on your site it takes four steps, and on a site where the number is a link it takes one tap.

The evidence

On an iPhone your home page is about seventeen screens tall, and your phone number appears exactly once, near the very bottom, about sixteen screens down. On your Contact page it is higher up, but still plain text.

The bottom of your home page. The only place your number appears. The four links under it are real links. The number is not.
Your Contact page. Two taps from the menu, then a scroll. The number is still text.
02

On a phone, your first screen has nothing a patient can press

  • button misses the screen by 38 px
  • 30 links in the menu
  • none of them your phone number
What it is

On an iPhone, the first thing on screen is your logo, a menu button, and a paragraph. Your “Schedule an appointment” button sits just below the edge of the screen. It misses by about 38 pixels, roughly the height of a fingertip.

Why that costs you

The first screen is the only one you are guaranteed to get. Right now a new patient who lands there has nothing to press and no number to call. They have to know to scroll, or open a menu that has no phone number in it either.

The evidence

The screenshot is your home page at the exact size of an iPhone 14 Pro, untouched. It ends just above your button.

Your home page, first screen, iPhone 14 Pro. A logo, a menu button and a paragraph. Nothing to press.
03

On a normal mobile connection, your page shows a photo and nothing else for the first several seconds

  • 2.90 MB in 105 files
  • still just a photo at 5 seconds
  • about 12 seconds to finish
What it is

Your home page loads 105 separate files, about 2.9 MB, for one visit on a phone. We loaded it on a deliberately slow mobile connection, the kind people have on the Edens or inside a building. Five seconds in, all a visitor could see was a photograph. Your name, your headline and your button appeared some time after that. The page did not finish loading for about twelve seconds.

Why that costs you

The people who search “chiropractor near me” on a phone are usually in discomfort and usually trying two or three results. A page that shows nothing identifiable for five seconds is competing against pages that show a name and a phone number in one. We cannot tell you what that is worth to you, but we can show you exactly what it looks like.

The evidence

Below is your own home page on that connection at five seconds, next to the same screen once it has finished. Same page, same visit.

Five seconds in. No name, no headline, no number, nothing to press.
The same screen, finished. This is what those seconds were spent getting to.
Part two

What it looks like fixed

We rebuilt your home page so you can see the difference rather than take our word for it.

Same practice, same words where yours were already right, same booking link. Every change below answers one of the three things above, and nothing else was touched.

Your site today
Nothing to press. Logo, menu button, paragraph. The number is sixteen screens further down.
The rebuilt page
Same screen, same phone. Open or closed right now, who you are and where, Call, Book online, and your address.

Your number is a link everywhere, and one of them never leaves the screen

There are eight places to tap your number on the rebuilt page, including a Call button fixed to the bottom of the phone that stays put however far somebody scrolls. Wherever they are on the page, calling you is one tap. Your site has none of these across all 46 of its pages.

  • 8 tappable call links on one page
  • a call button that never scrolls away
Answers 02

The first screen carries everything somebody in pain needs

Before any scrolling: whether you are open right now, who you are and where, a Call button with your number on it, a Book online button, and your street address. We did not judge this by eye. On a screen 852 pixels tall, the Call button ends 588 pixels down and Book online ends 656, so both sit well inside the first screen with room to spare.

  • Call ends at 588 px
  • Book ends at 656 px
  • screen is 852 px

The whole page is 181 kilobytes in 6 files

Your home page pulls about 2.9 MB across 105 separate files, and the largest part of that is not your content at all, it is the software your site is built on. The rebuilt page is one file plus your own photographs. On the same slow connection we used above, its headline, phone number and buttons were on screen in well under a second.

  • 181 KB
  • 6 files, against 105
  • readable in under a second

Open the rebuilt page

It is a demonstration. It is not on your domain, it is hidden from search engines, and it cannot compete with your real site. Your Book online buttons still go to your Booksy page, exactly as they do now. We did not touch your booking.

What we did not put on it

  • No review count and no star rating. Booksy shows one number and Yelp shows another, read the same day, and your own site publishes neither. So we published neither. Tell us which is right and we will put it up.
  • No prices. Your site does not publish any, so we do not know them and we did not make any up.
  • No stock photographs. Every picture on the rebuilt page is yours, taken from your own site.
  • Your testimonials are word for word what you already publish, with the same names and towns. We moved them up the page. We did not write any.
Also

Everything else we noticed, in case it is useful

None of this is urgent, and we are including it because we found it, not to pile on.

  • Your best proof is on Booksy, not on your website. Your Booksy page shows 5.0 from 187 reviews and a photograph of your storefront. Neither appears on your own home page. Your patient testimonials are on the site and they are good, but they start about ten screens down.
  • The main photo at the top of your site is a stock photograph, as are three of the eight circles in your “Conditions Treated” section. Meanwhile your own photographs, your building, your team and both doctors, are further down the page. That is the wrong way round.
  • The second line of your logo is very hard to read. “WELLNESS AND CHIROPRACTIC CENTER” is light green over a photograph, and at phone size it more or less disappears.
  • One button is hard to read: the white “More Blog Posts” text on the pale green pill. The rest of your buttons and body text are perfectly legible, which is why this one stands out.
  • Google cannot read your address or your opening hours from your website. They are on the page for a person, but the machine-readable version that search engines look for is not there. Your hours are published in your footer and nothing automated can see them.
  • Twelve of the twenty-four images have no description attached, including every circle in your Conditions section. That matters for anyone using a screen reader and for image search.
  • Things that are working, so you know we looked: your booking link goes straight to Booksy in one tap and works; all 46 of your pages load with no errors; nothing on the site is out of date; your address, phone and hours match on every page we checked; your headline says exactly what you do and where, which is more than most.

We did not fill in your contact form and we did not call the office, so we have not tested whether messages through the form reach you.

There is nothing to decide today

The rebuilt page above is free to look at and it stays up whether or not you ever reply. Nothing on it is a commitment, and there is no cost attached to this report.

If it would help, we will do the same free check on the rest of your pages and show you what those look like too, at a link. If you would rather just hand the three findings above to whoever built your site, that is a completely fine outcome and we will send you the screenshots and the measurements to go with them.

And if any number on this page is wrong, tell us. We will check it, correct it, and say that we got it wrong.
